Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 30 of the school year. Kindergarten is a half-day program, mornings (8:15 a.m. to 11:10 a.m.) or afternoons (12:00 p.m. to 2:55 p.m.), five days a week.
Foothill Elementary also offers a fee-based program called Kindergarten Enrichment (KE) for the other half of the day. Our Kindergarten and Kindergarten Enrichment teachers coordinate their curriculum creating a truly full-day kindergarten experience. Students are enrolled in Kindergarten Enrichment on a first come/first served basis.
The Foothill Kindergarten program is designed to help stimulate a good self-concept, providing each child with many challenges and a variety of experiences. Children will work and create independently and learn to cooperate with others in a group. We strive to provide opportunities for social and emotional development, inspire language development and expand physical and mental growth.
